Please check if you have any combi-boiler insurance or cover? If you have, please see if your policy is covered for boiler corrosion or ask the company who you are insured with. This is because people living in hard water areas (South-East England) have these problems in common where the boiler breaks down and you find out, after paying years of insurance that you are not covered, leaving no option but to pay for a new boiler to be installed.

This however can be prolonged if you have a magnetic filter (Magna Clean) fitted to the cold water system before it reaches you boiler, helping remove the particles in your water. One can easily be fitted if required. Please ask us for a quote and if you are unsure about your hard water, just look inside your kettle and see if anything is in there - two sugars please!

Gas Safe Engineers

NEVER let a person into your property unless you have asked them for current I.D. and checked it before they touch you gas supply, boiler etc. This is for your own safety and peace of mind. Also you would never expect a plasterer to service a boiler or a gardener to fit a bathroom suite and neither do we!
We recommend that anyone with wooden products outside have them treated at least once a year, preferably in the summer months when the weather is warmer and the timber dry. This is for two reasons; 1. The timber will have less moisture content in it. 2. The product being applied will naturally adhere to the timber itself. They say a product is only as good as the sealant used on it.

As wood is a natural product, it will always absorb water at any given opportunity. That is why a wooden front door can stick in damp and wet conditions, because it has expanded. Maintenance is more economical than replacement unless the product has been untreated for too long and the wood can no longer be saved. This usually applies to wooden windows that have had no maintenance for many years.
Most quality boilers now come with a manufacturers guarantee for parts for 5 to 7 years from new. If your boiler has no parts warranty we suggest that you put your central heating on once a month for a few hours. Even in the summer or mild weather months. Why? Because in your boiler is a valve that turns when your heating is switched on, directing hot water to your radiators. If it is not moved and the valve is kept in one position all the time (for your hot water only), then you've guessed it! The valve is stuck and therefore no central heating. These can be replaced 9 times out of 10, but its another tip for our customers.
